It is a decent movie, well maybe an OK movie but I like the remake much better.

Not really my bag, but Michael Caine was hot in this and the red white and blue mini-coops all over the place were fun. Benny Hill was a nice garnish to this old movie.

Classic heist movie starring the legendary Michael Caine. An all around entertaining movie.

Shallow character development, unrealistically instant communications between continents in the age before cell phones, and the cars and bus defied the laws of physics given that they were supposedly loaded with tons of gold. I also agree with the other reviewers: the ending was abrupt, never resolved, and probably resulted in many popcorn boxes and soda cups being thrown at the screens in theaters back in 1969. Another Micael Caine film, "The Fourth Protocal" also ends like this one - as if the writing staff went on strike twenty pages before the end of the script and never came back before the end of shooting to resolve all of the plot lines. It's not a waste of time, but expect the production quality and editing to be on par with most British films from the late sixties and early seventies.

I rented this thinking it might be like the newer version. It was cute but had nowhere near the depth and action that the later version has. Just rent the new one...

Never got a chance to see it. Always got the wrong movie twice. Ordered it twice, got the remake back twice. Terrible service. Are they clueless.

Dumbest ending I can ever remember in a movie.
