This story is heavy drama at its best with lots of gore,etc... the very multitalented Richard Gere and Andy Garcia(one of my favorites) do an outstanding job in convincing you that it's real what's happening..the only merit of any good actor worth his salt..the rest of the supporting cast come across with the necessary talent to give this film the rating that I deemed proper 4 stars!!

I don't rate films based on who played in them, but just on the story and how well it was portrayed.--- All of the actors did a good job of playing their roles, making for a very realistic tale. The tone and pace were just right, and the character interplay was well above the norm found in films. There's this wonderful scene of Garcia and his wife that so perfectly shows the different communication styles of two people in a struggling relationship, and that scene alone is one of the most realisitc you are going to find. She's rambling on, saying so much, while he keeps repeating the same angry question, and I'm laughing to tears, having been there in that type of moment myself.--- This film is well worth seeing.

MUST SEE!! This is one heavy duty serious movie! The best Cop movie I've seen! Has gotten top reviews just about everywhere! A really great story. You'll be glued to your seat! An unforgettable performance by Gere. And everyone else is also excellent! One of those movies you can watch over and over. I wish Gere had played another such role!
