The third installment in the widely beloved Spielberg/Lucas Indiana Jones saga begins with an introduction to a younger Indy (played by the late River Phoenix), who, through a fast-paced prologue, gives the audience insight into the roots of his taste for adventure, fear of snakes, and dogged determination to take historical artifacts out of the hands of bad guys and into the museums in which they belong. A grown-up Indy (Harrison Ford) reveals himself shortly afterward in a familiar classroom scene, teaching archeology to a disproportionate number of starry-eyed female college students in 1938. Once again, however, Mr. Jones is drawn away from his day job after an art collector (Julian Glover) approaches him with a proposition to find the much sought after Holy Grail. Circumstances reveal that there was another avid archeologist in search of the famed cup -- Indiana Jones' father, Dr. Henry Jones (Sean Connery) -- who had recently disappeared during his efforts. The junior and senior members of the Jones family find themselves in a series of tough situations in locales ranging from Venice to the most treacherous spots in the Middle East. Complicating the situation further is the presence of Elsa (Alison Doody), a beautiful and intelligent woman with one fatal flaw: she's an undercover Nazi agent. The search for the grail is a dangerous quest, and its discovery may prove fatal to those who seek it for personal gain. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade earned a then record-breaking $50 million in its first week of release. ~ Tracie Cooper, Rovi

Imaginative, full of action and fun to watch a great addition to the series of sequels and a good lead in for the new movie now in theaters (i.e. Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls).

I liked the last two Indiana Jones movies. I'll bet number four is very good. It was number one all week long. I bet a lot of people can't wait to see it. I looked at the reviews and some likedit and some didn't.

Ford is 68 & Connery is 74! But they pulled it off Beautifully! Never have I been more intrigued with an Indiana Jones more than I have with this one. Finally God's name was revealed for all to hear. Now who on earth really even uses the almighty God's name? Bravo Indie, Bravo!

After the first one this is my favorite in the series. Indy and his father go on an adventure with less action that the first two but it tells very personal story about a father and son who have a strained relationship. Over the course of the movie you see how they work differently and communicate poorly, but have to learn to have faith in each other to get through it. It's a perfect blend of humor and action.

based on the fact that this was supposed to be an "special release", I anticipated that there might be additional scenes in this movie - but there weren't - there were only more commentaries added that showed actors who were in the prior Indiana Jones movies...giving their 2 cents worth. The actors are of current age, and were reminiscing about their roles... I've always liked the movie - but when it gets advertised as a "special release" and nothing NEW was added to the actual movie... - it could have been a directors cut, that would have done well...
