I was very frustrated because I was expecting to watch a movie in my own language and could not. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More I wasn't expecting much from this movie, but didn't truly appreciate it until watching Nacho Libre with Jack Black. TFK was funnier (in my opinion), was a much deeper satire of modern life, and had an amazing final wrestling match that not only looked good but said something important about the development of the character. The Korean audio was not available, although the Chinese dubbing was good as far as dubbing goes. Also, there are some elements of Asian humor that may not work as well with Americans. He was very versatile and showed such a range of emotion throughoutthe film. If it was not for him it would have been a total loss. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Foul King is just that - while the film does not have the distinctive style of the oft-compared Nacho Libre, it has solid cinematography and script. To me, this seemed very like a comic-book story, in a similar vein to the hugely popular Hajime no Ippo (aka Fighting Spirit, the anime), but even better because it breaks with that formula in all the right ways, making the lead more sympathetic. In much the same way, I found myself wanting to follow these characters beyond the end of the film. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
