Not too bad. In fact, I was more entertained by this remake of Philadephia Story then the original. I especially liked the musical numbers. Overall, a worthwhile way to spend a couple hours. I will say though, that I didn't feel like some of the acting was as good or the story as tight in this one... but that was probably because of some of the tightening up that had to be done to allow time for the musical numbers.

In the golden age of high cinema, when the robber-barons were out of fashion but fresh in people's minds, consummate music icons Bing Crosby, Louis Armstrong, and Frank Sinatra collide to create the most sensational musical to hit the silver screen. They really go over the top in this charming, fun musical version of The Philadelphia Story, inspiring Grace Kelly to overcome a previously untested ear and debut her delightful voice in a duet with old crooner, Crosby. A witty, insightful, comedic look at love, life, - and of course class envy! Do not miss this masterpiece that is sure to please. Absolutely fabulous, fantastic fun!

When Grace Kelly wrapped her final day of shooting on "High Society", she walked away from film production and took on the daunting job of representing truly High Society as Princess Grace of Monaco. Her film career spanned all of four years and left the viewing public craving more. As fine an actress as she was, the film "High Society" was a creditable showcase for her talents but was rather lightweight as movies go. Still, I find the movie immensely viewable, having watched more than a dozen times. As everyone knows, the film is "Philadelphia Story" set to music, brilliantly written by Philip Barry and John Patrick. The songs are terrific and fit the comedy to a tee. Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby work and play together beautifully. Indeed, the ensemble works flawlessly to make "High Society" a splendid, if somewhat dated, musical comedy.

Just before she married Prince Rainier and became Princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly made this movie. Watch for her huge engagement ring--the real thing from her royal fiance! The film is very entertaining: Cole Porter's music is its best feature. For a very different film that also stars Grace Kelly and Bing Crosby, check out "The Country Girl." There, both actors show a wider range of character and emotion in a serious story.

This movie was worth watching for old times sake. I don't want to see it again. This is just my personal opinion.

Its odd seeing a movie where Frank Sinatra does not have the lead, but he did a good job playing a reporter. Grace Kelly plays a snobby rich girl who divorces her husband (Bing Crosby) for an uptight guy such as herself. Both Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra did a well job playing their characters, I wasn't so impressed with Grace Kelly. See for yourself.

What a wonderful, beautiful graceful (npi) actress Grace Kelly was but what an embarrassing vehicle to display it. The story was silly and nonsensical with great lapses of logic and continuity. It seemed as though Bing Crosby, Grace, and Frank Sinatra were on contract and had to clack out another film whether it made sense or not. Bing Crosby sings in the film but he could have saved his pipes for something more worthy of his voice--what a foolish and unecessary introduction into the film--it had no purpose whatsoever. And Grace's father in the film stands and delivers the most preachy, cold and sterile remarks to his daughter that he seems like a stone statue. Were it not for her flawless beauty this film would have been a total waste.
