Read More A subject such as this should have never been made into a musical. Even if I were a fan of Bjork's music I would not been able to get used to the crazy multiple camera editing. It gave me a headache. It was unnecessarily way too depressing. I give it 3 stars because Bjork gave an incredible performance. She is a really good actress. It carried the whole movie. Read More Hubris - the actual definition, not the misinformed American translation ("tragic flaw") would be my reaction. The director and cast aimed impossibly high and, by definition, failed. However, within that failure were some pwerful moments. Unfortunately, the story was far too implausible to take seriously. The musical numbers - as noted by others - were mostly painful. Read More I love Bjork, musicals, and dramas; unfortunately, I detested this movie. The acting was beautiful, and the serious drama of the film weighed heavily on my heart; however, throwing in 4-5 horrible and happy songs randomly throughout a film that's meant to tear your heart to shreds was rediculous and absurd. This movie is heartwrenching. It takes you on a ride making you fall in love with the charecter whose altruism alone is surreal.
a must see..

Read More Untill recently I was becoming convinced that there would never be another movie that would actually deal with people on a true emotional level. I have never before seen this movies equal. Bjork is utterly amazing in this movie. I think that the raw true emotion that she portray's should have been lauded by the Academy....of course they would never even watch a movie of this caliber....this movie is about life and love in the truest sense of the word...the Academy can never see past the end of its own nose!
