The acting and ... Read MoreThere are films that are so abstract, you have to be an open minded person and in a specific mind set in order to appreciate them. Dancer in the Dark is certainly one of those films. The acting and drama itself are impecable. Bjork delivers a brilliant performance of a woman who lives in two worlds. This film is very taxing on the emotions, especially if you know or know of someone who has slowly lost their sight or were born partially or fully blind. I was caught in an impetuous downward spiral of angst even through the very last seconds. Just promise you'll watch this with an open mind. Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

I admire producer's courage to show life from different perspective - betrayal, injustice, weakness, that is all part of life and there is no fairy-tale ending. Disarming, confusing, and the heartwrenching ending had me weeping for 10 to. 20 minutes. I can't recommend this at all and I usually love most movies for one reason or anothe.r WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

I tried, I really did, but the hand-held camera bouncing all around, moving from object to subject and back again ! I even tried fast-forwarding to so-called "musical numbers" -- phewww ! Really bad -- couldn't wait to get it out of the player and back to Blockbusters -- can't seem to get this review posted unless I give it more than a half star (doesn't even deserve 1/2!0 WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? but the film beat us. My wife stuck it out for almost an hour. I'm the one who likes Bjork and challenging, obscure cinema, but could only last a few minutes. My first ever 0 star review. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes
