In this romantic comedy, good friends change their feelings about each other over the course of their four years in college. Ryan (Freddie Prinze Jr.) and Jennifer (Claire Forlani) have known each other since grade school, though their oil-and-water personalities don't always mesh. Engineering student Ryan focuses on his studies and future career, while Jennifer likes loud music, partying, and not doing her homework. As they suffer their share of disastrous relationships, these two opposites begin to wonder if they were meant to be more than friends. The supporting cast includes Jason Biggs as Ryan's loudmouth roommate Hunter, Amanda Detmer as Jennifer's neurotic pal Amy, Alyson Hannigan as Ryan's sometime girlfriend Betty, and Heather Donahue, who is no worse for wear after her experiences in the Maryland woods in The Blair Witch Project. Director Robert Iscove also worked with Prinze on She's All That (1999). ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

You just keep waiting for it to get funny, and it doesn't. Jason Biggs keeps approaching funny, then falls back into his normal shtick. Blander than bland. Claire Forlani's diatribe at every turn is so dull and annoying you forget how attractive she is!

this was a great movie and you have to be romantic and have a desire for love to like this movie. the cast was perfect and wouldnt of worked with anyone else on the male cast side. it was smart, funny, and a slice of life of how we all look for perfect love and sometimes we try to hard, because sometimes it is right in front of us.

The movie was great ! Freddie Prinze Jr and Claire Forlani were entertaining and the opposites attract theory proves correct. I have recommended the movie to friends. Marvin L.

A thoughtful movie about growing friendships and the opposite sex: Generalizations are reversed between two co-ed friends who meet by coincidence. She doesn't know what she wants and is afraid of commitment while he is sensitive and believes in working for the right relationships.

This might actually be the single worst movie i have ever seen in my life. The director above should be banned from making anymore movies in Hollywood. This was an insult to my intelligence. I cant believe while they were making this movie, they actually thought it was funny and someone would like. It is that bad, don't get this movie, i would rather lose my right index finger than to watch this bucket of vommit again!!!

My wife moves every knock off romantic comedy she can find on Blockbuster to the front of the Queue, and ends up blocking all the AAA movies I had lined up for the weekend. We end up watching about 30 mintues of these movies because they are so utterly trivial. I'd snap the disc but Blockbuster would have to pay and support the creators for a replacement. See the problem here? STOP RENTING CRAPPY MOVIES OR THEY WILL KEEP MAKING THEM!!!!!

I love Freddy Prinze Jr but this was a horrible movie. Both boy and girl characters were annoying. I had to turn it off after about 30 minutes. Never had heard of this movie before, now I know why.

This was a shallow movie with a few humurous parts. Ryan and Jennifer are two people "destined" to be together. Through the years they are thrown into one anothers' lives in a cheap "When Harry Met Sally" plot. Jason Biggs did add some comedy which makes the movie less monotonous....

This is one of those no brainer movies where you don't really have to think about what is going to happen next because you pretty much already know from the beginning. The actors in this movie acted a little too much for me, kind of reminded me of high school drama. I was also hoping for something with a few more laughs, but that was short lived too. I've seen all the actors in this movie in better parts. I just don't think the parts they were picked for in this movie really brought out their best. I wasn't expecting an oscar winning movie, but when you don't want to pause it for a drink or bathroom break you know it's bad...
