How can you not love Ricki Lake??!! I love the music in this movie and the "love story." It's for entertainment purposes only and entertaining it is. It's great to watch her as the spokesperson for Hefty Hideaway, too funny. I suggest everyone watch this movie at least once in their life. It's a staple in my collection.

John Waters at his very best here. Divine was simply divine...Ricki was great and makes you wanna "Shake a Tail Feather" and "Twist Again" like we did last summer! Highly Recommended.

A fun and silly movie. Definitely elements of Waters in this film but this time it's all PG. From the title, I assumed it was going to be a movie version of the musical. Now that i think of it that was pretty dumb on my part cause this came out in the 80's and Hairspray the musical came out in 2002. So i was a little dissapointed, but the soundtrack to the film is great. Just don't be dumb like i was and think this is a movie version of the musical.
