Where the original Gremlins was a horror film spiked with comedy, Gremlins 2: The New Batch is essentially a black comedy, with a couple of horrifying touches. As the film starts, the fantastical trinket shop in Chinatown, which sold the Mogwai in the first film, is demolished by a crazed multi-media businessman called Daniel Clamp (John Glover). The heroes from the first movie, Billy (Zach Galligan) and Kate (Phoebe Cates), happen to work for Clamp in his huge high-rise. They find the Mogwai within Clamp's building, but not before he has accidentally spawned legions of mischievous, lizard-like Gremlins. Soon, the Gremlins are wreaking havoc throughout the building. In the original film, their misdeeds were violent, but here they're also goofy and satirical. Director Joe Dante has filled the film with quick verbal and visual jokes, which, for many, makes Gremlins 2: The New Batch a satire and inversion of the typical horror film. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Rovi

of all sequels to all movies ever made in life, gremlins 2 is hands down the best you can get. the monsters bigger and mutated, the movie even makes fun of itself for being a sequel. and boi how can you not love how these horrible creatures giggle at everything? yum yum!

If you saw Grimlens1 and watched this and was dissapointed, you are not alone. Gizmo, Billy, and Kate return in Grimlens 2: The New Batch but only for a new turn in events. Not following from the previous film, Gremlins 2 is not a kids movie. There are parts of sexual refrences, little green Gremlin blood and gore, not only that, but put all that together in a maybe thirty floor building, it's catastrophic. Although I gave this movie 3 1/2, the movie sucks in graphics, and has almost no storyline. So unless you want to waste your time, I would give this movie like a 2 in family friendliness. Go ahead and rent the movie if you say that my saying is wrong, you have a 99% chance of being dissapointed like I was.

This movie was definitely made by Warner Bros. All I could see was Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny during most of the movie with the sound effects. I couldn't believe how many Camios there were in this film. So many actors that you see all over the place in other movies, they usually play small parts. Even the White Wizard that turned Gray in Lord of the Rings was in this film. It seemed like everyone that was under contract with Warner Bros. during this time was in this film. I didn't really like this one compared to the first one, but I did get a few laughs out of it. Watch it if you want to, but you aren't missing much.
