Read More This is a fabulous film, one of those rare movies that is high art, action and serious drama even though it is animated. The animation is stunning, jawdropping. The story will captivate sci-fi fans and those that appreciate good animated films. You won't be disappointed. It's great family entertainment from Disney renegade Don Bluth...but you won't see any cutesy fluffy singing animals or princesses here. Earth has been destroyed by a vicous alien race called the Drej and the last remaining pockets of human refugees are flung across the galaxy, searching for a new home...and chasing the legend of the Titan Project, an Earth scientist's dream of terra-forming a new planet in case the Earth got destroyed or uninhabitable. As one of the first full feature animation flicks with cgi, this was done very well. Sound could have been improved but was still the best sounding cartoon I've ever seen. The mix of 2D and 3D animation came out a bit ... Read More Great story, a mix of animation comes out for a so-so result, and a soundtrack that you'll either love or hate. The story and characters are all great. The mix of 2D and 3D animation came out a bit sloppy. Cool in it's day, but I say pick one or the other. And the soundtrack? I know people that love it but I for one hate it. I like the orchestral tracks of Star Wars or even the tribal beats of the new Battlestar Galactica much better. Read More This film is perhaps most famous for it's groundbreaking combination of CGI and traditional animation. But what stands out most when i think about this film is the soundtrack's Lit - Over My Head which carries the movie's theme wonderfully.
The movie is quite entertaining to watch with plenty of action and clever storyline to keep you on your toes. But then again it is typical of the Sci-Fi genre. Read More Although I liked this movie the thing that I found a little bit out of place was the quality of the animation. On one side the 3D animation is excellent, but on the other side the 2D animations I really below average. The 2D animation made me feel sometimes like if I was watching a very low budget movie.
