Read More I wasn't expecting a lot, but found this movie to be very emotionally moving. I am an adult child of an alcoholic parent and . . . there were moments of extreme discomfort, but totally offset by the way the film drew me in, slowly but surely. The characters are real, not cardboard, I really cared about each of them. And felt the horror of an overdose, the joy of success, the depression of failure. I was so thrilled when the horse lifted his hoof! There were moments of real clarity and insight that offset that discomfort. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

I don't know what it's like to go to a place where you sit around all day and talk about your problems. If this was indicative of most rehabs then I can see why most people relapse. Who wouldn't. I enjoyed this movie. I don't think Sandra Bullock was right for the part. However the movie is PG 13, and short but the characters develop well and overall I think she did a good not spectacular job. I'm just surprised Owen Wilson wasn't in it. I loved this movie. I never seen it until now 2007 and its amazing acted and played out. It is so real to the point of what rehab is like. I never was in rehab for any kind or drug or alochol abuse but i was in the mental health part of the hospital because i was bipolor and had deep depression. I could relate to all the charctors in the movie... beings im gay and i was also a fomer cutter like the young girl in the movie. so i thought this was a great movie to watch because it was so true to the point... its just like rehab..thats what happens there.. i would def. recomend this one! Sandra Bullocks character in this gets drunk, ruins her sisters wedding, STEALS a limo, crashes into a house....and the judge sends her to a 5 star resort rehab ... Read More So....let me get this straight. Sandra Bullocks character in this gets drunk, ruins her sisters wedding, STEALS a limo, crashes into a house....and the judge sends her to a 5 star resort rehab center as punishment? I....on the other hand get pulled over in MY OWN CAR, I didnt get into an accident, and I get put in jail, lose my license, pay thousands of dollars in fines, and lose my job. I wish hollywood would stop glamorizing the TRUTH about what happens in situations like this, and show what REALLY happens for a change!!! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||
