Read MoreGone With the Wind, the highest grossing movie of all time (in today's dollars, it grossed over $1 billion at the domestic box office), is a masterpiece unrivaled in cinematic history. The story alone is brilliant, heartbreaking, and tragic. The acting is superb--beyond anything most movies accomplish in this era. Vivien Leigh, Clark Gable, Olivia D'Havilland, Leslie Howard and Hattie McDaniel so personify their characters that no one else could ever fill those shoes (just try watching the movie version of the sequel--OUCH). The costumes and sets were a marvel at the time of production. If you haven't seen this movie, you are missing out on history. Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Paul S, your review is SO WRONG, you are SO WRONG! There is NOTHING racist about this movie because the American public continues liking the film, if you can not see the acting and writing of this film and perhaps one of the BEST love stories ever written in a film, and incredible production ARE the reasons, I'd suggest you refrain from ignorant comments on movies reviews. Go review ANACONDA film. Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Revisionist, idealized portrait of the antebellum, Civil War, and reconstruction South, through a soap opera story. Today Scarlett O'Hara would receive a Borderline Personality Disorder diagnosis. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

My family age range goes from 11 - 45 years old and I can say- everyone enjoyed this movie. Even my 18 year old daughter- who rolled her eyes when I told her what movie came in the mail. Now, she wants to find the sequell in book and movie form. Not bad for an "old movie". WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

It is quite telling, as to the still racist character of this country, that it remains popular with certain sectors of the American movie-going pubic. Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes
