Read MoreThis movie has generated some very strange views. First of all, this by no means a B movie. It is the first of the three Highly Rated RIDDICK Chronicles. Vin Diesel does an outstanding job as the polished eyed killer on the way to a full max underground SLAM. But the craft is in trouble and they land on a planet with a very dark secret. Beware of the night, and the night is six months long. This movie really set the tone of the entire trilogy. If your looking for a great night of Riddick, this is a good choice. Read MorePitch Black is a combination of humor, action, sci-fi and horror all playing on your fear of what goes bump in the 'dark'. This movie was shot in two extremes, first it's unbelievably bright, then you discover what occurs when the lights go out. The sound is this movie is awesome too. This is a must see in a dark room. Also check out the whole trilogy, there's a special release anime feature few know about. The icing on the cake with this movie, the star of the feature is HOT HOT HOT! As with most director's cuts, this director's cut is too long, and needs to be edited down. The theatrically released version is better, watch that version instead. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Vin Diesel is surprisingly terrific as Riddick, the character that gives the film it's punch. The cast as a whole is great, and every character has enough texture to them to make them relatable in some fashion. But Pitch Black has no bones about what it wants to be; it is a science fiction film about people running from giant mosquitos. The movie starts off quickly and puts the viewer into a position that keeps them locked and interested in the movie. As the movie progressed it built to what could have shaped to be a great ending but I felt the potential didnât come through. I saw this movie in the theater when it came out. I have always liked it. Best movie Vin ever came out in that's for sure. The idea behind the movie is unique.

i thought i'd try to watch this again before watching the sequel "the chronicles of riddick" but it was boring then and still is. only bother if you care about vin diesel or the riddick world. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes
