1999 proved a banner year for screen portrayals of Satan's love life: first his relationship with Saddam Hussein went under the microscope in South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut, and a few months later his search for a girl to settle down with became the basis of this thriller. With the millennium approaching, a series of disturbing signs suggests that Satan (here played by Gabriel Byrne) has returned to Earth and is walking the streets of New York City. It seems that Satan needs to find a woman who will bear his child, as the time for the arrival of the anti-Christ draws near. A woman named Christine (Robin Tunney) believes that she has seen the Devil and felt his presence, and it's up to Jericho Cane (Arnold Schwarzenegger), a former policeman turned elite bodyguard, to keep her safe from The Dark Lord. End of Days was both directed and photographed by Peter Hyams; Kevin Pollak, Renee Olstead, and Udo Kier are among the supporting cast. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

This movie was very entertaining! It is one of my favorite Schwarzenegger flicks. It is a typical Schwarzenegger movie in that there is considerable action. But it is unusual in the way he finally conquers the enemy and his flawed character (alcoholic). There is tasteful Christian vs. Satan content and mild R-rating stuff. Gabriel Byrne is an outstanding Satan.

Awesome movie! Action, a little Sci-Fi. Plus its got Arnold "All that is Man" Schwarzenegger. It doesn't get much better than this.

If you're BB read this. Others, save your time and move on. I'm returning this disk for replacement. How many times has this happened? This time we made it to the hour and a half mark, the disk started to halt and skip and died at 1:36 time elapsed, just at the confrontation in the gloomus chambers of Old Scratch. Gawd, what a bummer. You need to improve a lot, and quickly, or you'll be gone for good, new owner or not. Criminy!

I love Schwarzenegger, but this movie is terrible. Everything from the plot, to the effects, to the acting are so sub-par that it is now the benchmark that my sister and I use when determining just how bad a movie is. Please avoid this movie and do something more fun...like pouring lemon juice in paper cuts or something.

I rented the movie "End of Days" because I am a fan of Arnold Schwarznegger. After careful analysis this movie has no winners or no losers except maybe the people who have to endure watching it to it's conclusion. Arnold loses his life, the Devil loses his chance to mate with a mortal female. The woman the Devil chose has her life completely ruined. Although I am not Catholic this movie seems to paint all Catholics as pathetic, incompetent, wimps. In conclusion this movie has NO CONCLUSION, there is nothing positive about it at all, and leaves one thinking " What was the point??" My conclusion is that the DIRECTOR was POSSESSED by a spirit of poor film making!!

Every once in a wile a film comes ot that leaves me utterly speachless because of it's poor story line, bad quality and incomprehensible plot. It is one of those movies that takes one bible line completley out of context in order to support it's ridiculous plot. The idea of Satan having a human child is not only stupid it is really irrelevant because the power of Satan will never be able to match that of God. It does not negate the sacrifice of Christ or give Satan control of the universe, it just speeds up his decent into hell, where are a form of eternal punishment lost souls will be forced to watch this movie.

I enjoyed this movie. It was typical Schwarzenegger. I am a fanatic of religious thematic movies so this was perfect. Some of the things were unbelievable, but what do you expect from an action drama?
