Read More This movie is great fun, and full of lots of interesting characters. I'm not a hockey fan, but I found this to be a feel-good film about a small-town full of quirky characters who put their hearts and souls into a sport which others care about only for the financial rewards. From a very funny jury decision in the hometown courtroom to the icy punishment for the player who repeated what was said in the locker room ("What's said in the locker room stays in the locker room!")this film is full of warm-hearted humor and honest emotion. Read More I was on a cruise to Alaska and this was playing...it sounded boring...but we were stuck on the ship at night and bored..so we went to watch it. OMG. My husband and I, neither of whom are hockey fans, were amazed at the calibre movie this was.
It was my first exposure to Russel Crowe and it was just a very good film. Thumbs up. It is a movie a husband and wife can both enjoy on a date night. :)

It is sooooo predicatable. I knew what was exactly going to happen. Even the ending wasn't a suprise (you know they can't make professional hockey look bad by losing--so make it close!) I love watching and playing hockey (i also love ice skating) and that is the ONLY reason that this movie got 2 stars instead of 0!
