Are you ready for the hottest band in the land? It's 1978 in Detroit, and pretty much any teenager who isn't a total wimp is totally stoked for the upcoming Kiss concert (as anyone who ever listened to Kiss Alive! knows, Detroit has always loved this band). But four proud members of the Kiss Army find themselves without tickets to the show, and one has to deal with a mother who is convinced that Kiss and their music are evil incarnate. Will they be able to foil scalpers, security, and paranoid parents to witness the fire-spitting, blood-puking, hard rock frenzy that is Kiss on stage? Detroit Rock City stars Edward Furlong, Sam Huntington, Natasha Lyonne, Giuseppe Andrews, and James DeBello as the representative members of the Teenage Nation; the original four members of Kiss (Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss) play themselves, and Simmons also co-produced. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Incredibly funny, even campy & clownishly laugh-out-loud hilarious from the opening scene. A tour de force of teen-tween, youth trying to be in revolt, as they week to assert their identity and strive to have their music and listen to it too; then, go to the KISS music concert of their time! Adventure, romance, comedy, & drama--this one has it all for teens to parents to the middle-aged who were there! See it, live it, reminisce it, and love the music!

KISS rules! This is something everybody will love. Great movie, and you'll lose your mind in Detroit Rock City without ever having to actually go there. Watch this movie, it's worth it.

I loved this movie; it reminded me of the '70s! That was the young time of my life so anything that has to do with the rock and roll of that era it super-fantastic! It was hilarious and has a great soundtrack!

My son was watching this movie - - and I wanted to leave, because I KNEW it was STUPID !! But dang if this movie didn't pull me in, and I laughed hard at some of the situations these 70's hoodlums got themselves into, with trying to get to a KISS concert ! I was hooked because....I saw myself in this movie...in 1972 and 1973, being the SAME WAY with Led Zeppelin - as I saw them 4 times in concert. So ya...if you're an aging Boomer like I am, this movie will bring back some memories - - and a lot of laughs, too !
