Read MoreHaving read the Burroughs books and seen every Tarzan movie for years, I loved this animated version so much I could watch it over and over, and hum the music just for fun. The waterfall scene is absolutely lovely, pretty enough for a picture. The emotions are true to the books, with man and ape both friend and foe, mother and kid both different and the same, etc, but the element of England vs the wild, and the pull of civilization & wealth - nature vs. nurture - is missing altogether, a few lessons in the jungle camp just do not suffice. The video is great on its own whether you call it Tarzan, or a girl and her grandpa visit a long lost guy in the jungle! It is beautiful.

I don't know why Disney always makes Tarzan look scarry in the still photos and ads, it is a rather cuddly and warm movie. I bought the sound track after seeing in on the big screen.
