One of the greatest Hollywood musicals, mostly due to Busby Berkeley. The amazing choreography of his musical numbers is astonishing, even by today's standards. Very fine performances by Rogers and others. Keeler dances alright but thankfully her bad acting doesn't detract much from the film. Definitely worth watching!

I learned about this film in a class where the teacher raved about how important and influential and FUN this film is supposed to be. I have to admit though, it took a great deal of effort to stay awake until the last 20 minutes. It was educational and I can see how it would have been influential, but the dancing wasn't as impressive as I hoped. It was interesting to know that this movie was a HUGE success when it first came out and to see how Hollywood started out.. but beyond that, it was boring and hard to follow.
