From Russia With Love, the second in the series of James Bond films, is the film that solidifies all the Bond film elements into a formula -- the action sequences are intensified and lend greater tension to the proceedings; John Barry's inimitable score makes its first appearance; and Sean Connery as Bond has nailed down his role as 007 -- accentuating Bond's stylishness and sophistication, while toning down his cold-bloodedness. In From Russia With Love, the bad guys don't want to take over the world. They want something more mundane -- a Russian decoding device. Assigned to the mission of stealing the decoding device are No. 3, former KGB agent Rosa Klebb (Lotte Lenya), and No. 5, Kronsteen (Vladek Sheybal), an expert chess player who has plotted every move of the mission. Kronsteen's plan requires using Bond's weakness for women as an element in acquiring the decoding device. Once Bond obtains the decoding device from Russian cipher clerk Tatiana Romanova (Daniela Bianchi), SPECTRE muscleman Red Grant (Robert Shaw) is to forcibly take it from Bond and kill him. But Bond suspects a trap. Being Bond, however, he can't resist the lure of a beautiful woman. So, flaunting danger, Bond travels to Istanbul to meet Tatiana. The centerpiece of this 007 feature is the thrilling fight to the death between Bond and enemy agent Red Grant aboard the Orient Express. ~ Paul Brenner, Rovi

Gotta love Mr. Connery. And a warm welcome to Q. Women, gadgets, explosions, humor, and bad guys. Bond film perfection.

This is the best damn James Bond film ever made. You got the best James Bond story, book, screen play, big star power of European movie stars (including Lotte Lenya, Sean Connery, and Robert Shaw) at the time, best beauty contest winners (3 of them - including the leading lady) and just the right amount of special effects. This was just so good.

This 2nd Bond film is one of the best in the series. Sean Connery is the "tough guy" Bond. Connery is what made 007 the man every guy wishes he could be and the man every woman wishes she could be with. A must see for the true Bond fan.

47 years later and it is still my fave James Bond movie, maybe it's becuz I was living in Izmir, Turkey at the time in the Air Force and had actually visited Istanbul as this movie was being made -- great script, awesome stars and the location is all that - I loved Izmir, Turkey & Istanbul and 007 Sean Connery was the best ever.

This movie amazes me and it to be honest......From Russia with Love is kinda better than Dr. No. On the back of the From Russia With Love movie box (found at store), a critic box-office says it's good. I think this is like The Top Box Office of 1963.. 1 of my favorite Bond films...FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE

You have to be a Bond fan. It was just kind of goofy/cheesy. At least I now know where Mindy Sterling got inspiration for her Frau Farbissina character in the Austin Powers movies. It was "Number 3", a delightful old hag from this movie.

A must see for all James Bond fans. See this digitally remastered.

Classic James Bond, loose morals included. Not that that's necessarily good...
