It was one of the few Sci-fi franchises that was allowed to grow and find it's audience. When this movie Fight The Future came out. It was perfect timing. The Series was on high. The movie accomplished what very few TV shows ever have...Translate successfully and respectfully from the small screen to the big screen. Agent Fox Mulder and Agent Dana Scully are classic characters that bring the X-files to life. The flick takes off from where the 1998 season ends, and leads into the next season. The movie itself is an exciting chilling journey. Mulder and Scully fight to uncover a government conspiracy about alien colonization on Earth. A true gift to the fans. Very enjoyable and fun. Read More I wish people like the other person who rated this movie would quit being so ignorant and childish. The X-Files was one of the best series in the world and never will die because it exposes thoughts and patterns that even in the real world outside of this show goes on. The government is not always telling us the whole story or the truth. Chris Carter made a lot of good points and the X-Files will go on to be one of the most daring series ever made. It's just that if you're a die hard X-Files fan, this doesn't satisfy you. There're no aliens, not too many conspiracy theories, no Lone Gunmen, only 1x FBI from the old series (which is btw superb). But if you don't know much about the X-Files TV series & view this as a standalone (which it is according to Chris Carter) cop thriller, this is quite good. For certain scenes, they reminded me of Seven even & that's a compliment. That only miscast is Xzibit really... I highly recommend this movie to the general non-X-Files fans. I came across this movie and thought I would give it a try. I enjoyed it, but if you aren't into the X-Files, you probably won't. It was much like the show in my opinion, meaning that it starts off just barely entertaining enough to keep you watching, then gradually picks up and gets pretty exciting toward the end. No prior information was needed.
