Read MoreThis was a MINI-SERIES, so yes, it is long...but it is NOT boring. My husband and I were watching it ,and after 2 and 1/2 hours said "oh, this must have been a mini-series" "well, at least it isn't boring". The acting, cinematography, s/fx, directing & script/plotline were all good (not great, but good). We watched it in one straight shot. Pretty exciting in some spots. During the Vietnam war a Doctor created a (title character) Creature and some shark/dolphin hybrids, the Creature kills the hybrids and a man is supposed to kill the Creature, but instead lets it go....segue to the present.....the Creature is killing people and adapting....SPOILER ALERT..................................................it eventually grows legs and lungs and becomes even more formidable. This was made for TV so it is toned down a bit. Long, but goes by fast. Acting was good. Not really a shark movie, but still suspenseful WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Benchley is a one note author, pretty much. He even stole the idea of a Jaws spin off, Tenticles, an Italian giant squid movie made in the Jaws aftermath for a novel he called The Beast. Creature is just Jaws grows legs. They should've just pushed the shark into a soup pot but they carry on forever with it chasing them in an underground lab and tunnels. Bad shark thing! Bad!
