Matt LeBlanc proves he can act in a serious role as a star fighter pilot turned protector of this important exploring family. The roles of the children and parents are also well played with realistic and futuristic conflicts arising throughout the story. The role of Dr. Smith is dark and more sinister than the TV version, and Gary Oldman is perfect. It may be too intense for children under 7, but is a must see for sci-fi fans 10 and up.

Great movie. Awesome representation of the tv series. Superior special effects. Great story. I have this in my personal collection. Have watched it many times.

I was really disappointed in the movie. Although the acting was really good, the plot wasn't and I really disliked the ending. If you're looking for something similar to the original show you won't find it in this movie, other than the characters being the same. There was humorous places in the show and some good action. All in all though I just didn't care for the movie.

It could have starred Tim Allen. Smack. The original Tv series is a cherished, if corny, memory. This movie tramples on some cherished memories - like the design of the Jupiter 2 spaceship, for example. There is little plot and all, but who cares? No one watching this movie can reasonably expect "High Art". It could have been better, but I have seen much worse.

This movie was worse than the corney TV series it was based on. The plot is downright dumb, the acting is vapid, the robot is stupid (why would it shout out it's programming?). This is just one big CGI-fest, and waste of CGI at that. Don't waste your time: "Danger Will Robinson, Bad Movie! Danger!"

You know the movie is going to suck when if they include any actor from the tv show "Friends" and that is true of this movie. Just be glad there wasn't a sequel from this movie.

They took a mediocre TV series, and made it into a bad movie with a weak story. The only bright spot was Matt LeBlanc, who proved he can handle a serious role (even with the cheesy dialogue).
