The scenery alone was worth watching for. The acting was ... Read More I've seen 3 discs, which were very well done. I saw the Indians in a different light. They too had a culture, sense of humor and honor. The scenery alone was worth watching for. The acting was realistic and seemed true to life. The last 3 are not nearly as good. During the last 2 discs there is so much time spent on flashbacks to earlier episodes that they kind of drag. Excellent acting in all episodes and graet scenery. Excellent in every way. It ranks up there with "Lonesome Dove" and "Dances with Wolves." I'm thrilled that it is now available on DVD. If you like epics, this is for you. Read More It does not represent an unbiased account of history. Human nature is represented as either bad or good but there is no explanation for it in the world that people live in. However, there are good examples of how humans are forced to give up old family relations and discover new love in strange places.
