I watched it for the first time in 2005. Excellent acting--always with Freeman. Judd did a good job too. The plot was linear and always kept you in the movie. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Average, run-of-the-mill serial killer thriller that is dimly lit in many scenes making it difficult to decipher exactly what is going on. There are logical flaws as well. Having said that, Morgan Freeman turns in another fine performance as a warm, likable and sagacious, father-figure. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

In some ways, it was a little unrealistic, but it still did a good job of telling a tale. There were twists and turns all the way to the end, which seems to be James Patterson;s style as a writer. The actors were fairly well casted for the roles, with Ashley Judd being one of thw weakest links in the chain. Good pace, but the tone was a littel wishy washy for the plot and content.--- Let's go walking through the woods, talking history and joking about relationships when your niece is hidden away by some perverted serial raper-murderer.
