Read MoreThe first hour of the film, you expect to be startled by a monster, thinking that it's going to be another "Alien" type of film. To my shock it turned out to be a psychological thriller more than the typical monster slasher theme which has been done to death. What a great idea to combine the spiritual with the unknown outter space. it is ingenious and genuine in the sense that no one has gone this direction. I saw it when it first came out 12 years ago, I was 25 and it scared the crapp out of me, more than any other film, I lived alone and I was in college at the time, and I couldn't sleep for like 3 nights. The reason must be because of the uncertainty of the ending or all the unanswered questions it leaves behind. The element of the evil that surrounds the whole movie is very disturbing and frightening, Although hell is really located in the center of the earth (as it is clearly stated in the Bible), it does make it plausible to argue the what if. I like the actors and they portrayed their characters well and are interesting. The weakness of the movie comes from its ending/plot and its dialogue is pretty bad mainly by the main character.
