The reason I like it so much is that the plot takes something that could happen, (the gateway) and adds a supernatural element. If you enjoy a little sci-fi in your horror, this is an excellent title. Blending suspense, gore and psychological horror, this title bleeds with uniqueness. Mix the best of the Hellraiser series with the best of the Alien series and you have Event Horizon. Highly recommended! WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Read MoreThis is one of the movies you either love or hate, as you can see from the rest of the reviews. :) I thought it was well made. Not much of a plot but, there really doesn't need to be one. It is interesting and entertaining. The atmosphere in this movie is so dark and scary, it entices you want to keep watching. I saw this movie the first time back in 1997. Movies do not usually effect my sleep but this one was borderline. Definitely some disturbing things in this movie for any younger viewers. Either way, a well made fun/scary sci-fi/horror film. I saw this at 2 am in a vacant theater. The scene with the woman with no eyes was the scariest part for me and gave me nightmares for a week. I still to this day cannot watch the scene. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

I found this movie very dull. I would have stopped it half way through but since a friend recommended it I decided to watch it all. I would recommend against this. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes
