Read Morei've always been a big fan of carl sagan - and this movie definitely does justice to the book. it is a completely believable story and scientifically possible - which is essential in a good sci-fi movie. the acting is great - and it is not overdone like "independence day" or other big screen thrillers - no punch out an alien and steal his spaceship here. just a possible scenario of how to answer one of the oldest questions in human history - is there anyone else out there? and if so, how could they ever find us? The visual effects in this movie (especially at the end) were spectacular, which surprised me because not many people know about the movie. Overall an entertaining movie. alien species. Elle Arroway is a promising
scientist who has devoted her life to SETI (Search
for Extra-terrestrial Intelligence), but is
continually being hampered at every turn by her
former professor Dr. Drummond. Elle inspired me
and gave me a bit of faith in humanity. This movie
has driven me to read many other of Dr. Sagan's

Jodie Foster is one of my favorite actresses and she played this part so fully. It went beyond what I could have written or imagined, which makes any movie I watch captivating.
