The art direction was phenominal, and the set pieces were beautiful to look at. This is a fast paced medium budget Sci-Fi film that has loads of action, but does not take itself too seriously. If you watch it lightheartedly and with a grain of salt this movie is a lot of fun to watch. All of the bad reviews are people who took everything too seriously, and did not see how the movie almost poked fun at itself. Chris tucker's part was outstandingly hillarious, and Bruce willis was quite funny as well. The antics were fun to watch, as was the beautiful Mila Jovovich. Because of it's beauty and unbelievable DTS surround track, tied with its high paced action, this is my FAVORITE movie to demo my home theater to friends with.
This movie is spectacular. It is meant to be enjoyed, so sit back and laugh with it, as well as at it. That is what the director intended. Have fun! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Someone even has a light saber. Everytime I watch it, I find something new! some of the suggestive sexual situations might go over youngsters heads, but I wouldn't let kids watch it. Read More I totally agree with the other reviewer that this movie it totally rediculious movies ever made. It is truly sad that Bruce Wdillis felt the need to embarass himself by accepting a part in this movie. Probably the worst monie you will ever see Bruce in, it is truly sad that the multi-millionaire movie stars would stoop to this level just to get a payday. Do yourself a favor and ignore the positive reviews unless they are from a juvenile.
I do aqgree that the movie is visuqally stunning, especially since I watched it on my bluray player@1080p. It is a total bomb, the only good thing about it is the spacemen are cool and the vehicles are retro, that was the only reason I rented it was that I had seen some of it on cable and I wanted to watch it on my new player. This movie is a collection of Hollywood farming-talent garbage. Let's get Bruce Willis to wear an orange tank top all day and pretend to be a retired bad-ass. Then we can get Chris Tucker to dress all funky and do some campy ebonics. Now, Milla Jovovich can pretend to be naked for all her screen time! What else... oh, right, Gary Oldman called and said he needed extra rent money so give him a role of a the most unconvincing villian since Dennis Hopper in Waterworld. And... Luke Perry. Case closed. Gavel down. Water tight. Flush it down. This movie rips on so many other GOOD sci-fi movies that it's like watching a montage of previous films. Oh, and in case you haven't watched it yet... THE FIFTH ELEMENT IS "LOVE!" Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
