The movie gives a fictional account of the real kidnapping of the U.S. Ambassador to Brazil by leftist "Revolutionary" wannabees, in 1969, during the brutal rule of the military in that country and the four days he spends with his captors who want to trade his life for that of 15 political prisoners. Good acting by Pedro Cardoso, Selton Mello, and strangely attractive Fernanda Torres. As U.S. ambassador to Brazil, Charles Burke Elbrick, Alan Arkin's performance is sympathetic but very wooden compared to his Brazilian co-stars. Close this Review
