My wife and I are scarred for life! This is one of those movies where the director tells the talent that being funny is more important then acting. Exaggerated characterization and overacting is the norm in Crazysitter with most performances becoming stupidly silly caricatures. Clever situations become contrived and moronic. This is a terribly made humorless comedy. I felt weird watching it like I was humiliating myself. There are some talented actors in this movie and the story has great potential but the execution lacks craftsmanship and is no better than third rate. Beverly D'Angelo could have been good but she always looks like they filmed her practice runs. The only bright spot is Phil Hartman's 60 seconds as a creepy salesman. Ninety-one minutes of Crazysitter will have you wishing you watched Thumbtanic instead! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Read More I didn't sit through the whole thing before moving on to another movie! My rule of thumb is to give a movie 20 minutes, and if it's not going anywhere by then, move on. This movie met that criteria.
Why? It had a predictable premise, which was worsened by hosed acting, and a lack of humor. Nell Carter shooting a gun in the air in a downtown environment to get Beverly D'Angelo to move on (from being released from her custody) was a worthy clue. This was followed up by the kids unsuccessfully trying to get rid of all of the nanny candidates who had responded to their parents and not their own ad (later, obviously, they must have been successful, but I couldn't get by some of the pathetic attempts at comedy...I won't go there in this review; trust me!).
In summary: save your time, save your rentals, skip this one. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
