Amazon Women on the Moon (1987) Reviews

Amazon Women on the Moon (1987)
Member Rating:
The 1987 portmanteau comedy feature Amazon Women on the Moon lampoons several film genres in general and the 1954 sci-fi cheapie Cat Women of the Moon in particular. Other sketches in Amazon Women include an opening bit with Arsenio Hall; a vignette titled "Son of the Invisible Man" wherein a naked Ed Begley Jr. runs around in full view of the nonplussed supporting cast; the It's Alive parody "Hospital", which offers the spectacle of Michelle Pfeiffer giving birth to Mr. Potato Head; and a Siskel & Ebert takeoff, featuring Arche Hahn as a TV viewer whose entire life is given a "thumbs down." Directed by several hands, including Joe Dante, Carl Gottleib, Peter Horton, John Landis, and Robert K. Weiss, Amazon Women on the Moon also features a satire of the Kroger G. Babb school of "sex hygiene" exploitation cheapies, with syphilis victim Carrie Fisher being counseled by unctuous doctor Paul Bartel. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Brilliant absurd comedy. Wacky and uneven from the many hands directing. Still some of the individual sequences you can never forget. Try- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jTM4ZOa69U

I have seen this movie many times, but a long time ago. It's a sketch comedy film with the B-Grade Sci-Fi movie "Amazon Women on the Moon" threaded through it. The language and nudity was pointless and irritating, but there are three or four sketches that are hilarious. I guess that's why I remembered it and wanted to see it again.

Remember when Comedy movies didnt always follow a formula to how a story will be written. You didnt have to have a dramatic scene to show that their was purpose and realistic plot in your script. This movie has the kind of Insane humor we saw in Airplane, and Naked Gun. Only this is even more manaiacal. You will actually get worn out from laughing when you watch this movie. If you like it be sure to check out AMAZONs' sister movie "Kentucky Fried Movie".

Very silly with about every cheap gag known to cinema. This is an alimony/I need the money flick. Most of the actors phoned in their performance's. Good for a laugh when you don't want to do much thinking.

Like I said in the note enclosed with the CD, the CD was clearly split so I couldn't view it.
