When the movie ended, I found myself wondering about the novel from which it came and wondering how much I was missing. It is fun seeing a very young Nancy Davis (later Reagan) in a sympathetic role.

Oh how I love Barbara Stanwyck! And she is wonderful in this great movie as the patient & forebearing wife of ladies' man James Mason ... Great story, great acting ... you'll enjoy it ... !
