This movie is somewhat misleading. It's not really earth vs the spider. It's more a small sleepy town vs the spider. The movie was made in 1958, but this movie is pretty low budget and cheesy even for 1958. You never once get the impression that anyone is in peril. As long as they run fast enough, they'll get away. The acting is bad, the story is pale, the plot is razor thin, and for a 73 minute movie - it's really boring. The screaming sound that the spider makes while on screeen gets extremely annoying too.
