I really liked this movie and my 9 ear old tat watched it with me, liked it too. It's the story of Vada's mother that she has never met. The movie is not as deep as the first one but, the writer tied in info from My GIrl 1 to this one which if you wath the first one within a day or two of this one you start cring again. It was a good movie but, not as great as the first one.

In My Girl 2 you learn something about how youth are meeting the challenges of today. Vada is trying to move us forward by not taking the easy path. And just as Vada was befriended by a selfless Thomas in My Girl, so is she lifted by a selfless Nick in My Girl 2. And such classrooms should exist in reality as they exist in movies. Vada is spurred to great ventures by what occurs in this one. And the biography of her birth mother, Maggie Muldovan, a story within a story, is appealing because the portrait it completes is thorough enough to fulfill Vada's assignment to tell the story of someone famous. The photography helps with strong and balanced color. A powerful subplot exists in the funeral parlor setting of these stories; youth need to reason about death, so do we all.

Cute movie about a girl who tries to find information about her deceased mother for a school project. Anna Chlumsky & Austin O'Brien place great together.
