I missed the profanity comment in the summary. There are a few words, so be ready for it. There is also a time when you see the boy's bare backside when he jumps in the lake. For my kids who had read the book, Hatchet, they enjoyed it. It does drag a little. Of course, the book is better!

What an odd movie this one is. Basic synopsis: Young boy crash lands in plane and is lone survivor in Alaskan wilderness where he has to fend for his own. This predictable movie could have used some help with a decent sound track or atleast have picked a child actor who could ACT since he is the only charcter on screen for 99% of this dreadfull bore of a movie! Just wait for the the anticlimatic ending that will leave you asking yourself, what was the point of this film?
