This is one of the best of the Ealing comedies, right up there with Whisky Galore. Alec Guinness looks like he was having fun. Some of the set pieces are so clever, it makes your jaw drop; the two guys getting in and out of the train car, for example. The hilarity begins at the very beginning of the film.
