A depressing but real movie. Kitty Winn was great, Pacino was good as usual. The ending was the best part, and fit the movie perfectly.

you know how old movies sometimes drag but you just got to watch them to appreciate them. well this is 1 of the faster moving ones and i love it everytime i watch it. i find it an accurate picture of the heroin explosion and the effect it had on people. pacino and winn are excellent. beware though you have to love the gritty 70's style filming but it's a good movie to veg out 2.

Non-stop close-ups of needles being injected into arms--not for the queasy. The story itself is rather mundane, so the whole thing falls on the character development portrayed by Pacino and cast. They do a credible job but not enough to susatain one's interest--after all, we already know that drugs are bad for you!
