L'Amour writes great westerns, and Elliott is the epitome of a cowboy. These two facts alone make this movie worth watching. The last 10 minutes seemed cobbled together with disintegrating continuity, perhaps because the movie had to be wrapped up in the tidy 2 hours (minus commercials) allotted for a TV movie. It was an unfortunate ending to a good story. Perhaps someday the western will be rediscovered, and L'Amour's stories will be produced like the movies they deserve.

Good movie, all L'Amour stories are great. Sam Elliott put up the money, rewrote the story and made himself look good...except for the idiotic walrus moustache. Lucky he only kissed her once.
