Excellent movie with a young John Hurt. Really felt like 1949 since the movie was made in 1971, just over 20 years since then. I'm sure much of the old worn british slum-like apartments hadn't changed much since 1949. Well made british movie that kept me wondering what's next. Not boring like a lot of the british BBC type stuff made today. It's amazing what serial killers could get away with back in those days....I wonder how many were never ever caught???
