As originally aired and seen on PBS, this documentary program explores the life, times and innumerable accomplishments of Elbert Hubbard (1856-1915), one of the chief proponents of the 'Arts and Crafts Movement' - a sort of creative renaissance in American handiwork that blossomed between about 1880 and 1910. Some championed Hubbard as a great talent and a visionary; others derided him as a charlatan and a huckster, driven his own need to attain immortality.
