Those only familiar with Ian McKellen as an old wizard will find this much younger performance riveting, especially in the second act where we see Edward's downfall. I was absolutely spellbound by his performance. Those hesitating to view a 17th century play in blank verse should know that the verse is spoken quite clearly by excellent actors. There are also subtitles. And know that the story is not fiction but does follow history fairly closely.
