Anton Pardoe, Roselyn Sanchez, and Patrick Bauchau star in this nightmarish film noir about a tortured soul who returns to the city he vowed to leave behind in order to save the woman he knows he can never have. He was a ruthless killer whose disregard for his own life and devotion to the luminescent beauty Porphyria earned him the nickname "The Mad Monk" by his fellow assassins. But that was ten years ago, before he decided to make a break from his violent past. Now Porphyria is in danger, and the only man who can help her is the man who intended to disappear forever. There are men in this city who have been awaiting his return since the day he left, men who would relish the opportunity to watch him die slowly. At the forefront of this diabolical group is the formidable villain named Nikolai -- a man who not only raised the so-called Mad Monk, but may be his biological father as well. Now, as the man with no name returns to the city that never forgives, the guns are drawn and the mystery deepens. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This movie is narrated throughout the film, no redeeming qualities. Okay, I rented it because I wanted to see Roselyn Sanchez. If you want to see her in a somewhat decent film, rent, "Yellow". It is at least viewable.

This is the perfect title for this borefest..THE PERFECT SLEEP. Because it will give you EXACTLY that.Horrible movie that has as much pizazz as growing grass. Even the beautiful rosalyn sanchez has such a small role in this that you walk away mad. She can USUALLY take a bad movie and make it good, but NOT THIS TIME.

This is a very different film than most I watch. Thank God!! I watched it with my brother and both of us enjoyed it for different reasons. I enjoyed the esoteric nature of it and the director's implication or suggestion of something rather than beating me over the head with information. I also loved its beautiful look and style. I couldn't really tell where or when I was and that felt really cool. My brother is much more of a graphic novel fan boy and totally loved the homages left and right. If you are not well read or if you don't appreciate style and subtleties, then this film is definitely not for you. Maybe go check out something with Stone Cold Steve Austin in it.
