The "boys next door" are Roy Alston (Maxwell Caulfield) and Bo Richards (Charlie Sheen), typical California teens freshly graduated from high school. Daunted by the prospect of the real world, the boys decide to go on one last fling in L.A. But it's not all clean, wholesome fun; in fact, Caulfield and Sheen launch their weekend bash by beating up a gas-station attendant, throwing a glass bottle at an old woman, and murdering gay-bar patron Chris (Paul C. Dancer). Somewhere along the line, Bo becomes repelled by their violence spree, but Roy seems to be sexually aroused by all the misery he's causing. And so it goes, without real rhyme or reason, until the bloody denouement. Director Penelope Spheeris later helmed Wayne's World, The Little Rascals, and The Beverly Hillbillies. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

This is a wild coming of age film depicting socially outcast teens. It gives insight on the recent Virginia Tech massacre, Columbine, and all the other juvenile killings. The film shows that children must be properly loved and cared for by their parents. The parents should even be watching for signs of mental illness - seeking help when the signs are there. Just as important, the children should be taught early-on that the measure of a person is not in his possessions but is in the level in which they care for others. They must be taught human values. Parents get in tune with your children! This is a wild film. The viewer can see how resentment turns to acts of vandalism, and how minor acts can quickly grow in intensity as they succeed without immediate detection.

It was difficult to watch. Acting good enough, content depressing.
