Despite being categorized in the horror genre, there isn't anything in this movie that's the least bit scary. In fact, the synopsis is far more interesting than the movie it describes. And for the first time that I've seen, the story mixes an unlikely duo - Hong Kong characters practicing a Western religion. What weakened the story is how the botanist communicated with plants, the amateurish CGI effects and the ridiculous finale that may make your eyes roll back into your head. On a positive note, Shu Qi is getting better at being a serious lead actress. The Dolby Digital 5.1 audio option made very good use of surround sound. As for extras, there's a trailer for the movie and trailers for two other films. Not really recommended.

Once again they get you with yet another foreign language film! You shouldn't have to search 3 clicks in to find this information, it should be on the movies title page. Misleading advertising at its best or worst depending on your point of view!
