Intrigued by the recent trend of scientists, journalists, philosophers, and teachers who have been ostracized and discredited for daring to suggest that humankind may be the product of intelligent design rather than a random fluke in the cosmic scheme of things, Ben Stein sets out on a journey to investigate the supposed persecution of the many by the select few. Stein asserts that in recent years, anyone who dares to question the idea that adaptation is responsible for the development of Earth's organisms is held to ridicule, and over the course of the film, he travels the globe to speak with the supporters of both theories, pondering the reasons why believing in a higher power has seemingly become a massive taboo in the eyes of educators and the media. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Finally!! It's about time we hear the other sides views and opinions. I would highly recommend this to my family and friends. Great insight to whats going on behind the scenes and an eye opener of how our freedom as Americans is quietly being squelched and others views and non-beliefs are being forced upon us. See it! It will make a difference on how you view alot of things! Question I'm asking now is "WHY ISN"T BLOCKBUSTER MAKING THIS AVAILABLE FOR ONLINE RENTAL? Has someone already squelched your freedom?

Great subject matter- and about time that it was given some attention.....but, to those of us who are familiar with Creationism/Intelligent Design and the workings of current American Academia and ":science", this is old-hat. For those not familiar with such, the info contained in this film could have easily been presented in 15 minutes or so, and the remaining time used more wisely, to convey more info. And, quite frankly, even as a big fan of what Ben is trying to do here.....it is admittedly not very entertaining; nor engaging; nor even interesting. As an aside, for anyone interested in ID/Creationism, one would be far-better served to look up the videos of Kent Hovind; Ken Ham; et al, online.

I was very disappointed in this movie. I thought there were some very legitimate points to be made on this issue and I thought Ben Stein could be the guy to make them...I was wrong. He starts off using pathetic" Michael Moore-ish" techniques that do not appeal to any intelligent people trying to objectively evaluate both sides of any issue. He connects Darwinists to atheists to eugenicists toNazis and actually ends in a tour of Nazi death camps. Surely someone has filmed a better documentary on extolling the virtues of intellectual freedom.
