Movies are typically intended to be entertainment, and in spite of all the bashing of Keanu, and the endless unflattering comparisons to the original, I found this movie to be somewhat entertaining. This is not a terrific remake, but it's not nearly bad enough to ranked among the worst movies of the year. Keanu's rather one dimensional acting in this movie is actually quite appropriate. This movie pushes the 'message' of the day; in the 1950s it was popular to 'fear the atom' and today it's 'fear the damage man is doing to the Earth'. This isn't a great movie nor is it anywhere close to being one of the years' worst. It's 'OK'. I would recommend renting the original version of this movie, I would also recommend not getting your hopes up too high in anticipation of seeing this movie. It's 'OK'. Pop some popcorn, sit back, relax and just enjoy it for what it is; a decent bit of movie making.

The ending was really weak. There was no reasonable conclusion to the movie.

Don't waste your time on this one; rent the original instead!
