In Death Proof -- director Tarantino's take on such peddle-to-the-metal shockers as White Line Fever -- Kurt Russell stars as an engine-revving psychopath who prefers to take out his beautiful victims at 200 mph. Originally released into theaters on a double bill with Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror under the Grindhouse banner, Death Proof finds a group of ladies out on the town pitted against a mysterious figured named Stuntman Mike (Russell), whose vintage automobile has been partially modified to withstand even the most extreme auto collision. Though the maniacal driver himself always comes out relatively unscathed, the same certainly can't be said for the poor young lass in his passenger seat -- or anyone unfortunate enough to be on the road when the urge to kill strikes for that matter. With a list of potential road-kill candidates that includes Rose McGowan, Jordan Ladd, Rosario Dawson, and Vanessa Ferlito, Death Proof takes viewers on an adrenaline-infused drive that's as sexy as it is shocking. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

I can't emphasize enough how bad this movie was. Kurt Russell is a great actor and he played the part well, but even Kurt Russell couldn't save this movie. The dialog was endless, boring and stupid. QT obviously thought the inane talking sequences added something to his earlier movies because they were novel, but they're getting old and stale now, and I'd like to see some point when the characters are talking.

I can not believe that Kurt Russell would even take credit for this movie. The acting was poor, the sound, especially the dialog, very hard to hear or understand also the filming looked like something from the 70's. I kept watching in hopes there was some rhyme or reason for the movie but it never came. This movie was just purely a waste of my time and I feel studip for ever watching it.

I rented this because I really liked Planet Terror and I LOVE Kurt Russell. This movie was so bad and the dialogue was so meaningless. There was so much mindless chatter that had nothing to do with anything. I can't explain how or why I watched the whole LONG LONG thing. Oh, wait, it was the death scene in the middle of the movie. Right, it was about 45 seconds long and the only decent part of the film. I cannot caution viewers enough, DON"T EVEN think about renting this.
