    Special effects were very good, nothing else was, good time to go outside and watch the grass grow.

    i understand that this is made from a book by ted dekker who is a christian suspense writer. unfortunately, it is not a very good movie. not having read the book, i came into this not knowing what to expect. the beginning was interesting. the effects and the atmospsphere was scary. but the longer the story went on, the less i cared. once i figured out what the house was, and who michael madsen was, and what the purpose of the people being there was all about i no longer cared about the story. i am a christian so normally this should have appealed to me, a sort of morality play. instead, i grew bored, disinterested and eventually stopped watching it before it ended. It was no longer believable (feasible), and therefore no longer scary or interesting to me. maybe on another night i might have found it appealing, the idea of characters having to face their fears and failures sounds interesting. i would not recommend this movie.
