Rock & Rule (1983)
Member Rating:
A rock & roll singer searches for eternal life in this animated musical fantasy set in a post-nuclear dystopia. Similar to the earlier Heavy Metal (1981) in tone, this film attempts to incorporate mythical themes and mutant beings with music by Cheap Trick, Deborah Harry, Iggy Pop, and other popular acts of the time, with mixed success. Clive Smith's film was a disappointment at the box-office, but has since attracted a minor cult following. ~ Robert Firsching, Rovi

In addition to an alternative version of the main feature, the bonus disc has a 22 minute long mini-movie, "The Devil and Daniel Mouse," which is sure to please young and old alike. Well worth renting.

This one is quite a classic. The animation is nicely done, with its own unique style and great musical scores. Even being as short as it is, the plot does drag a little bit and some of the characters are not developed nearly as much as they should be. Overall, a must see for any animation fan.

Review 281: An uninteresting relationship between rock lovers who disagree about a show is the center stage when a big wig music producer walks out on their show which leads to their plotting against his evil to gain eternal life.
